Singapore, 11 October 2022 – Singapore-based local express logistics company Ninja Van is launching two eco-focused initiatives as part of its efforts to improve sustainability. Both initiatives launched in October and include an electric vehicle (EV) pilot program and updated eco-friendly versions of Ninja Packs, Ninja Van’s prepaid plastic mailer.
A partnership with leading commercial vehicle leasing company Goldbell Leasing to pilot an electric vehicle will add 10 electric vehicles to its fleet. The trial is the first program of its kind to be undertaken by Ninja Van across its network in Southeast Asia, and is part of the company’s wider plans to measure and manage its environmental impact.
As part of the trial, Ninja Van will evaluate a number of factors before moving forward with wider adoption across its fleet in Singapore. These factors include challenges drivers may face, as well as ground-level data such as the availability of commercial charging stations and the range of a fully loaded electric vehicle.
The Ninja Van is the first model of Foton’s recently launched iBlue electric van. As a long-term fleet partner from 2014, Goldbell will work closely with Ninja Van to navigate the complexities of fleet electrification, such as providing electrical infrastructure advice to maximize the economic, environmental and practical benefits of this trial.
Sustainability is part of Ninja Van’s long-term goals, and it is important to us that we approach our transformation in a thoughtful and planned manner. This allows us to maintain the “hassle-free” experience that Ninja Van is known for among shippers and customers, while also providing great benefits to our business and the environment.
